Kwikwetlem Cycle Journey: 3 Bridges Loop FraserFEST 2019

Three Bridges Loop from Colony Farm, Coquitlam, Saturday, September 21, 2019
Approx 50 km:loop trail 

This ride starts and ends at Colony Farm Regional Park in Coquitlam. It crosses the Fraser and Pitt Rivers via three recently built cable bridges (Port Mann, Golden Ears and Pitt River Bridges). Connecting the bridges are major greenways and three regional parks.

The route takes you through Tynehead Regional Park, Surrey Bend Regional Park, along the Golden Ears Way bike path, the Pitt River Greenway and the PoCo Trail while the FraserFEST canoes will be traveling on the Fraser River from Fort Langley to Colony Farm Regional Park.

The section from the Golden Ears Bridge in Surrey to the Pitt River Bridge in Pitt Meadows follows the Trans Canada Trail and is also part of the Experience the Fraser project’s route. This section, including a portion of the PoCo Trail to Colony Farm Regional Park, is also part of the Canyon to Coast Trail.

The featured First Nations along this route are the Kwikwetlem (red fish up the river) FN and the Katzie of the Sto:lo First Nation.

• LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY
The route is basically flat and is made up of dikes and slightly rolling trails. The most difficult grades are over the three bridges.

Register for this ride by first going to the Trails BC Meetup Page - you will need to become a member of the meetup and can easily decline the membership after the meetup - the membership is free.  From there you will also need to register with the Rivershed Society using the link on the Meetup page.  The ride limit is 10 cyclists.
