EVENT AND ACTIVITY WAIVER – TRAILS SOCIETY OF BC

INDEMNITY AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

I am aware the leaders or guides of these cycling and walking are volunteers who have knowledge of these cycling, and walking excursions but do not profess to have expertise in guiding and do not hold any formal qualification or certification to do this kind of work.

In consideration of my participation in this Trail Society of British Columbia Society activity I hereby for myself, heirs, executors, administrators, and assigns, RELEASE AND FOREVER DISCHARGE the Trails Society of British Columbia their officers, managers, servants, agents and volunteer leaders, (all of which are referred to as the “Societies”) from any and all lawsuits or actions, claims or demands by reason of any damage, loss, death or injury to myself or to my property arising from my participation in the activities not withstanding that the same may have been contributed to or occasioned by the negligence of the Society and the guide assisting in the activity.

I AGREE to save, hold harmless and indemnify the Societies and their volunteer guides, from and against all lawsuits, claims, actions, costs or expenses in respect to any death, injury, loss or damage to myself or my property howsoever caused arising out of or in connection with the activities and whether the same may have been contributed to or occasioned by the negligence of the Societies and the guides. I RECOGNIZE AND ACKNOWLEDGE that there are inherent risks and hazards involved in participating in the activities including, but not exclusively, such hazards as danger from, sudden changes in weather, falls on steep terrain, failure of equipment, and the possibility of becoming lost as well as other risks and hazards associated with hiking, mountaineering, wilderness travel, bicycling, water crafts and the other pursuits promoted by the Societies and I AGREE to assume all such risks and hazards, and I further agree to bear all costs of rescue or medical attention rendered to me personally arising from the activities.
Furthermore, I understand that this is a non-competitive activity.
